At a very small size (8x8x8"), the Jamo SUB 800 can be placed wherever dcor dictates. Its stunning finish and design make it a perfect partner for stylish, modern homes. Not only does the size allow greater freedom aesthetically, flexibility in placement also yields acoustic advantages.

The performance of the SUB 800 is belying its small size, easily outperforming many larger subwoofers by providing deeper, cleaner performance, even at high volumes.

Technology
The Jamo SUB 800 is a front firing subwoofer featuring three 6.5 drivers one active and two passive. All drivers utilize high-stress aluminum cones for the best possible transfer of heat from inside the cabinet.

The active driver in front gives the most detailed midrange response, while the side-firing passive radiators allow for good acoustic coupling to the listening room. The built-in power amplifier is capable of a stunning 800W peak, while the efficient magnet-system of the active woofer converts the energy to a powerful, clean and articulate sound.

Technology
The SUB 650 is intended for high-performance speaker systems. It features a powerful front-firing design with an explosive 12-inch long-throw woofer. It is placed in an entirely closed cabinet, eliminating port noise. With an impressive 650W of peak power from the BASH amplifier and a frequency range from 24 Hz to 200 Hz the SUB 650 is The top of subs.

Because the SUB 650 is capable of reaching down to an incredible 24Hz, weve incorporated variable Boundary Gain Compensation for optimum integration in the home environment. The SUB 650 also features a 12V trigger input, which is particularly useful in custom install applications.

The X Power is the reference stereo power amplifier in the Cyrus series. Conservatively rated at 70W/ch (8 ohms) and upgradeable in stages to 140W mono (with PSX-R), the X Power is the perfect partner for the Cyrus X series preamplifiers such as the Pre PR XP d and DAC XP+, or as an upgrade power amplifier for the Cyrus 8XP.

Technical Information

This amplifier is the perfect partner for the Cyrus X series preamplifiers such as the Pre XPd and the DAC XP+ where the system does not demand the driving power of the mighty Mono X. In true Cyrus style the X Power is packed with a long line of features to enable total system flexibility and the possibility of progressive upgrade routes to double the system power up to a full 140W (8 ohms) when switched to mono with a PSX-R connected.

Conservatively rated at 70W, the X Power design includes a vastly over-specified power supply bringing considerable dynamic power in excess of the rated RMS figure, essential when driving difficult loads. Technically competent, the X Power ranks highly amongst its peers for technical specifications such as noise, distortion, damping factor and current delivery.

With the X Power working with its partner the Pre XPd, there are many different system configurations that can be arranged for the pair. From a single X Power in a high quality pre/power system through 2-amp systems (either bi-amped stereo for quality, or configured as mono for high power) to the ultimate 4-box bi-amp mono system. Further upgrades are possible at any stage by connecting PSX-R power supplies, taking the ultimate X Power system to a full 8 boxes!

The X Power is also an excellent upgrade for a Cyrus integrated amplifier, such as the Cyrus 8 XP, either to upgrade the performance of the internal power amplifier, or to use both the internal power amp and the X Power in a bi-amped configuration. The fixed gain structure of the Cyrus range enables any Cyrus power amplifier, such as the X Power, to be matched for bi-amping to any Cyrus integrated amplifier with a pre-out connection.

The X Power includes a port for connection of the PSX-R power supply. The PSX-R is a high capacity, fully regulated power supply with even more capacity than the internal power supply of the X Power. The benefits of the super-quiet DC power from the PSX-R will be primarily experienced as an upgrade in the sound of the system, although the power output of the X Power will also be increased, particularly when operating as a mono amplifier.

The X Power features a sophisticated music-sense circuit with microprocessor control. When the unit is set to low-consumption Standby a high-sensitivity circuit will detect an incoming music signal and switch on the amplifier noiselessly ready for use. A precision timer in the control system will then hold the amplifier on for 4 minutes before resetting to a semi-Standby state. From this state the amplifier can be wakened instantly so that even subtle low-level background music or effects signals will not be lost as the amplifier exits standby. If music is not present for an extended period then the X Power will revert back to its true low-consumption standby state.

As an alternative means of power control when used in a Cyrus system, the X Power includes connection for the Cyrus MC-Bus system. In this case the intelligence in the control system will detect that the user has chosen to use MC-Bus control and will de-activate the music sensing control system.

For applications with systems where music-sense is not required and MC-Bus is not connected, the music-sensing system may be disabled, temporarily by holding the standby key down when first switching on the X Power mains power, or permanently by moving a small jumper connector internally on the PCB.

The computer control system of the X Power also monitors the general status of the amplifier and can react quickly enough to protect it from accidental short-circuits, even when running at full power.

The quality lightweight die-cast enclosure of the X Power has a myriad of advantages both electrically and mechanically. The integrated heat-sink design enhances the thermal efficiency allowing higher performance to size ratio. Additionally, the non-resonant nature of the alloy minimises microphonic effects, while its non-ferrous composition provides an effective shield from external electro-magnetic disturbances. This also eliminates coupling of the power transformer stray magnetic fields to the sensitive audio circuitry

The Cyrus 6 XP is based on the Cyrus 8 XP but without the power supply upgrade port. The 6 XP is very well specified with a generous power output (2 x 40 w power amplifier), high performance pre-amplifier based on the X series DAC XP design, six analogue inputs, a zone two output so you can play any source in another part of your home, Bi-wireable speaker terminals, headphone output with a good quality amplifier, Pre-amplifier output (for bi-amping), large clear high quality LCD screen, and a sophisticated control system with system remote control are all provided. Input sensitivity matching is also included. There is also an option to add an on-board Cyrus DAC and 5 digital inputs.

NB: Not all model variants are available in every market. The Cyrus 6 XP is shipped without the onboard DAC. Adding the digital board is an upgrade option.

Technical Information

The XP platform has been designed so that we can develop one main project and make several versions. The 6 XP benefits from all of the investment in the Pre XP model. We then grafted an updated version of our 2 x 40 watt power amplifier into the 6 XP along with a new power supply to take advantage of new components that have recently become available. With these attributes the Cyrus Integrated 6 XP is able to deliver remarkable performance for such an affordable amplifier. The new power supply design has improved the peak power output (190W peak power into a 1 Ohm load) allowing the resulting performance to compete favorably with many amplifiers of double its conservatively rated 40W RMS specifications. In addition, the 6 XP owner has wider upgrade path through adding a digital card or returning the amp to Cyrus for a factory upgrade to either 8 XP or ultimately the Pre XP and a matching power amp. The front panel boasts a high quality LCD display that shows volume, the input selected and a set-up menu that allows you to configure your amplifier to work exactly the way that suits you.

The Cyrus 6 XP power amplifier is based around a new twin transformer power supply that allows separation of control systems and audio. Its ability to drive much higher quality loudspeaker is a clear advance compared to previous 6 series models The high performance amplifier is based on the Cyrus 8 XP and is factory upgradeable to the higher series model. Sharing technology with the Cyrus Integrated 8 XP, the Cyrus Integrated 6 XP is sonically voiced to match with the wide range of Cyrus power amps to allow customers to add a stereo amp and bi-amp loudspeaker that support this feature

The new Cyrus power supply incorporates new components that allow the amplifier to consume less than one watt when in standby. The second transformer also allows us to separate sensitive low level analogue signals from digital and control systems. This results in worthwhile acoustic benefits that had not been possible in our previous designs plus cost and energy savings.

Upgrade options include

Return the amp to Cyrus and have a digital card fitted that adds 5 digital inputs including a USB input that allows connection of a computer. Anything that plays on your computer will sound much better when played back through the high quality Cyrus quality DACs on the optional d board. The Cyrus digital board uses a very highly specified Burr Brown DAC arranged so that all digital sources connected benefit from the very high quality of the DAC.

Cyrus 8 XP
This is a return to factory upgrade that upgrades any 6 XP to an 8 XP. This brings more power and a further option to add a PSX-R power supply for even better sound. You can also upgrade to the 8 XP d model and add the benefits of the high quality DAC and digital inputs as well.

Pre XP
This is a return to factory upgrade that converts any 6 XP to a Pre XP. You can use the preamp with one of the wide range of audiophile Cyrus power amps. They range from the popular 8 Power through to the breathtaking Mono X amps. A preamplifier and separate power amp sounds better because we have separated the power supplies. Your retailer can demonstrate this but in effect you are allowing each section to work with its own engine and this helps things sound clearer. The preamp adds a further option to add a PSX-R power supply for even better sound.

Use the preamp section with one of the wide range of audiophile Cyrus power amps. They range from the popular 8 Power through to the breathtaking Mono X amps. Because they are designed with the same sonic tuning your Cyrus 6 XP will match perfectly with an additional power amp. Adding another power amp sounds better because you can drive the base and treble speakers separately. (Usually the new amp would drive the bass speakers). Your retailer can demonstrate this but in effect you are allowing each section of the speaker to work with its own engine and this helps things sound much clearer. Please check your speakers support this option.

For the PM6003 Marantz took the opportunity to not only change the cosmetics of its much appraised predecessor PM6002 to get it in-line with the M1 design, but even extend the quality. It got special treatment to refine the sound and optimise the balance from bass to mid to highs for a performance full of harmony. The new lower impedance case shielded toroidal transformer was matched to new main capacitors which again have been aligned to a new type of power transistor capable of handling higher current and keeping better control over the speaker. More powerful transistors are mounted on a new extruded aluminium heat sink reducing resonances which could influence the sensible audio signal. All has been balanced and harmonised with the right combination of customised audio components on the right place of the circuitry. Tight bass, clear stereo image and a wide sound stage is the result. Be amazed!

Comprising a iPod control dock, a powerful active subwoofer plus two compact satellite loudspeakers this attractively-styled package comes with a long-range radio frequency remote control so you can control the system, your iPod (and your tunes) from another room.

But this 2.1-channel systems versatility extends far beyond filling your room with tunes stored on your iPod. The control dock (which charges your iPod too) is also fitted with an extra auxiliary input on its rear panel so that you can hook up your computer, portable DVD player or games console to the system. i300 Control Dock
A new Universal iPod "well" means that we can guarantee that youll be able to use any dock-able iPod (non-dockable 1st/2nd generation iPods can be hooked up via the auxiliary input). The control docks auxiliary input on its back panel also opens the possibility of connecting a computer, games console, portable CD player etc.

As you turn the volume knob , you will notice the volume light-bar indicator increases accordingly.

Class D digital amplifier
The power is delivered by a class D digital amplifier, chosen because it is much more efficient than conventional amplifiers - it simply produces more sound and less heat. And with lower power consumption the need for cooling is significantly reduced which again reduces the size of the heat sinks. Also the circuitry layout itself is more compact which besides space savings also grants shortest possible signals paths and thus optimum sound quality. A digital amplifier is not a cheap solution, but it is the right solution in order to decrease the size and enhance the performance.

i300 sattelite speakers

These satellites solid construction and design result in hi-quality sound and power never before experienced from an iPod speaker system. They are weighty, magnetically shielded boxes that pack a mighty punch, due in no small part to the 76mm (3in) co-axial driver thats fitted. Finished in high gloss white these beauties can be placed on a shelf, mantle, table, desk, wall (a wall bracket is supplied as standard) and so on.

i300 remote
The included radio frequency remote control keeps the power of your iPod in the palm of your hand, even when youre not in the room. The remote sends signals through walls and around corners to control your i300 and iPod no matter where you go. The remote lets you pause, advance, go back, fast-forward, rewind or play any track.

These satellite speakers are characterized by their great vitality, richness of detail and finesse. We would warmly recommend this system for iPod users or the owners of any other high-quality MP3 player, or as an amplified speaker system for a computer. Its strengths lie in its quality of manufacture and superior sound reproduction, which exceeds that delivered by many speaker systems which are designed for use in a computer environment. All very well of course, but without great sound the Jamo i300 would just be three, very cool, shiny white cubes. When it comes to iPod speaker docks there's always the argument that you could just buy a cable and connect the iPod your existing Hi-fi.
